Let the books run themselves.

Tell WIPKeep what happened, in plain English. It does the accounting in the background, and you just review and approve. No forms. No jargon. No bookkeeper.

  • You approve every entry
  • Real double-entry, handled for you
  • Minutes, not evenings
Try it: tap a transaction and watch it happen
The difference

Accounting software makes you the bookkeeper. WIPKeep doesn't.

You run the jobs. WIPKeep does the books: you just approve them in plain English.

The old way

  • Menus, forms and dropdowns, after a long day
  • Assumes you know what a debit is
  • Job costing is a plugin or a spreadsheet
  • Mistakes surface at tax time

With WIPKeep

  • One plain-English sentence, typed from anywhere
  • Real double-entry happens behind the scenes
  • Job costing is built into the core
  • Safety warnings before a mistake hits your books
How it works

You bring the words. WIPKeep brings the books.

Three steps, and the hard one isn't yours.

1
You

Say it

Tell WIPKeep what happened, the way you'd text a friend. No forms, no categories to hunt through, no debits to learn.

2
WIPKeep

It handles the accounting

WIPKeep reads your words, drafts real double-entry books, files it to the right job, and updates your reports, the part you'd normally pay someone to do.

Drafted & filed for you
Business Checking$2,000.00
Unearned Revenue$2,000.00
Cash ↑Johnson kitchenHeld as unearnedP&L refreshed

Flags anything that looks off, before it ever posts.

3
You

You approve

Give it a glance and tap approve. Nothing ever touches your books without you, so the AI does the work, and you keep control.

ApproveOne tap. Back to work.
Safety nets

Nothing posts to your books unchecked.

These are hard-coded checks that run before an entry is saved, not the AI's opinion. Try to slip a mistake past it.

See it catch a mistake

  • Debits must equal creditsTo the penny, or it won't save.
  • Duplicate-payment heads-upBefore you pay a bill twice.
  • Can't oversell inventoryBlocks a sale you don't have stock for.
  • Reversal guardsNo reversing a reversal, no tangled unwinds.
  • Deposits handled rightParked safely until the job is done.

You still approve every entry: the safety nets make it much harder for a bad one to slip through.

Job costing, built in

Know what a job really made you.

Real project profit, without a spreadsheet on the side.

Tag costs to a job as you go: lumber, subs, permits, labor. When the job's done, close it with one click: WIPKeep clears work-in-progress to costs, recognizes the revenue, applies any customer deposits, and shows you the real profit. Change your mind? Reopen it just as cleanly.

Doing warranty or post-sale support after the job? Track those costs against it, too, so you always know a project's true bottom line.

Built for the trades, and anyone who works job by job

  • Contractors
  • Handyman
  • Plumbers
  • Electricians
  • HVAC
  • Painters
  • Roofers
  • Landscapers
  • Remodelers
  • Cleaning crews
  • Movers & haulers
  • Freelancers & consultants
  • …and yours

→ Try it: tap “Close the job” and watch the profit land.

More that keeps your books solid

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Real accounting under the hood, explained in plain English.

  • Tax-ready reports

P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and T-accounts that tie, ready when you need them.

  • Loans & leases, split out

Financing a truck or leasing equipment? WIPKeep drafts the monthly payment schedule with principal and interest split out. You generate and approve each month; nothing posts on its own.

  • Inventory that counts itself

Weighted-average cost and COGS calculated automatically as you sell.

  • Budgets, built your way

Set budgets for the business or per project, then watch budget-vs-actual as the year unfolds.

  • Recurring bills, on your terms

Rent, loans, subscriptions: WIPKeep lines them up; you generate and approve them.

  • 1099s & vendors

Track vendor spend all year and pull a 1099 summary at tax time, consolidated by tax ID so one sub paid under three spellings totals once. It is a preview to hand your preparer, not IRS e-filing.

  • An audit trail that never forgets

Every change is logged, timestamped, and exportable, audit-ready by construction.

  • Business & personal, kept apart

“Bought groceries with my personal card” lands in your separate personal ledger, never on the business books. Owner draws and owner-funded purchases post to the right equity accounts, drafted for your approval.

Our promise

We'd rather earn your trust than borrow it.

We're new, so instead of fake logos and paid-for reviews, here's the real thing.

Why we built WIPKeep

You didn't start your business to become a bookkeeper. But somewhere between the job site and the tax deadline, the books became one more thing keeping you up at night.

We built WIPKeep so you can just say what happened, and trust that the accounting is handled, correctly, in the background.

We're new, and we won't pretend otherwise. So instead of borrowed logos and made-up reviews, we'll show you exactly how it works, let you check its work, and earn your trust one clean entry at a time.

Straight talk

A few honest things worth knowing.

We'd rather you hear it straight from us.

  • You enter what happens

WIPKeep doesn't connect to your bank yet. Every entry comes from you (in plain English, a project close, or a recurring bill you approve), which is exactly why nothing lands in your books by surprise.

  • Works with your accountant

WIPKeep isn't here to replace your accountant. It keeps your day-to-day books clean, balanced, and exportable, so tax time is easy, whether you file yourself or hand off to a pro.

  • New and improving fast

We're new and shipping constantly. Tell us what your business needs, and it shapes what we build next.

Questions? Talk to us

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

  • Do I need to know accounting?

No. You describe what happened in plain English, and you get plain-English books back. Every entry explains itself in words you can read, so you always know what was recorded and why.

  • What if the AI gets something wrong?

You review and approve every entry before it posts. Nothing is automatic. On top of that, hard-coded safety nets catch common mistakes: debits must equal credits, duplicate payments are flagged, you can't oversell inventory, and reversals are guarded. The AI drafts; you decide.

  • Is my data safe?

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every change is recorded in an immutable, exportable audit trail. Nothing is edited quietly behind the scenes. You can trace exactly what happened, when, and to which entry.

  • Who is WIPKeep for?

Contractors, tradespeople, and small businesses that want real books without becoming the bookkeeper. It's an especially good fit if you run jobs or projects and need true job costing: tracking costs to a project, watching WIP, and closing it out cleanly. And it's not just the trades: cleaning crews, movers, freelancers, consultants. If your work comes in jobs, it fits.

  • How is it different from traditional accounting software?

Instead of menus and forms that assume you already know debits and credits, you describe what happened and WIPKeep drafts the real double-entry for your approval. Job costing is built into the core rather than bolted on, so project work is a first-class part of your books.

  • Does it connect to my bank?

Not yet. You enter transactions in plain English, or they flow from closing out a project, or from a recurring bill you generate and then approve. Every transaction still passes through your review before it lands in the books.

  • I already have books for this year. How do I switch?

Set your fiscal calendar, then bring your numbers over in plain English: enter opening balances as of your start date, or key in this fiscal year's transactions if you want the whole year in one place. Jobs already in progress can be brought in the same way. One recommendation: keep your old system's records and exports. Your legacy data is part of your tax history, so preserve it, don't delete it.

  • Can it keep my personal spending separate?

Yes, WIPKeep keeps two sets of books. “Bought groceries with my personal card” lands on your personal ledger, never the business one. And when money crosses the line (a business expense paid from your pocket, or business cash used personally), it posts to the right owner's equity accounts, drafted for your approval.

  • Is there a free trial?

Yes, every paid plan starts with a 15-day free trial. You enter a card up front but pay nothing if you cancel during the trial, and cancelling is fully online: no phone call, no fee. Prices are published in full on the pricing page.

  • What happens to my books if I cancel or stop paying?

Cancelling doesn't erase your books. Your account moves to a free, read-only plan: you can still sign in, view your books, and download the reports included in the Free plan, and you can request a copy of your records anytime. Your data is retained in line with our data-retention policy (see the Privacy Policy), and returning to a paid plan picks up right where you left off.

  • Do I still need an accountant?

WIPKeep complements an accountant rather than replaces one. It keeps your day-to-day books clean, balanced, and exportable, which usually makes tax season faster and cheaper. For tax filings, audits, and big financial decisions, we recommend a qualified professional.

  • Can I run more than one business on it?

Today it's one company per account, with separate Business and Personal books included. Multi-entity support is on a waitlist. Email support@wipkeep.com and we'll let you know when it's ready.
